Hi everyone!
I am so excited to be getting some chickens, have wanted them for years. I am the wife to a wonderful husband and mother of 3 grown children. I have a granddaughter and 3 grandsons. I babysit the 3 boys full time. I enjoy quilting, crochet, knitting, tatting, macrame and really any craft. I recently found English Paper Piecing hexagons and am working on the La Passion hexagon quilt. My husband has a large (35' X 120') garden and I also enjoy my water garden with a few Koi and some goldfish with plenty of water lilies.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? No chickens yet, gathering supplies to build the coop.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? none but the coop will house 10-12
(3) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. We have a lab, 3 dachshunds and 2 very onery cats!
(4) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? My daughter recently got some chickens and told me about this site and how much information overload there is here. As I said earlier we are just getting started and I am looking for information on what kind of substrate to use in the coop and in the run.
