Hello! My name is Haley and I am new to backyard chickens. I first got chickens a few years ago and it has been a very fun expirience. I have 13 chickens right now. I had 14 but unfortunately a cruel boy in the neighborhood broke into my coop and killed one of my chickens. Luckily the police found out who he was and he is now in custody for that and many other things he did. We have also upgraded our security and now have heavy duty pad locks and motion detector lights on our coop so my ladies will be safe. I currently have rhode island reds, araucanas, barred rocks, and astralorps. We live on just over an acre and our ladies free range most of the time but do have an enclosed outdoor area when we are not at home. I am a veterinary technician and have 3 dogs, 2 cats, and a freshwater aquarium with 19 fish.
