Hello all my name is Eliezer Rodriguez and new to the forum. I am 30 years old and would like to be able to have continuos supply of eggs and meat for my family as well as preserve some heritage breeds. I live in Puerto Rico a beatiful island with tropical climate and ideal to raise chickens at 80 degrees the whole year. Thanks for this wonderful forum fully of important information of chicken breeds and good people.

Welcome! PR should be a great place to have chickens. What kinds of predators do you have to worry about?


You may find mice or a bird similar to a small eagle called guaraguao, but not a big deal. I think the same chickens of a flock are more predators or dangerous than a mice or a guaraguao if you don't manage the flock well. :D
