Hi I’m a 1 year in chicken owner. Started last year in April with 4 baby chicks. Realized really quick the difference between sexed and unsexed. One ended up a rooster. Found him a good home. When the other 3 we’re old enough they went out and I got 2 more baby chicks to add to the flock.
Since then though I’ve had 2 pass away on me… not sure why they passed.
When spring came one of my hens went broody… I live in city limits so no roosters allowed. Needless to say I had to break her from being broody. She won that battle and I got her 2 fertile eggs to lay on. She’s a good momma… unfortunately 1 passed away.
