Hi! I joined this site. I'm in upstate SC. I just bought my first chickens in oct 2012. I have 4 Wyandotte hens and one rooster (he was supposed to be a hen and will probably not be around once my neighbors hear him crowing!) I bought them for eggs-laying. I did name them (with names I found in a baby name book!) but they don't have the best personalities for pets 
My hens are golden-laced and silver-laced (2 of each) and my rooster is silver-laced with a green tail and wings.
In the future we're hoping to move to the country and have more chickens (some different breeds maybe). We are in a fairly large city right now and the chickens free-range in our fenced backyard. It's been a fun experience! My preschool aged children love them!
I'll try not to ask too many questions but I do have a lot!
