New Member from VA - incubator question

Thanks for all the great advice - love the mirror idea!
I tried to convince my DH that we should bring the chickens inside during this cold snap (we have 4) - to give the little guy some clucking/soothing sounds nearby... or at least one hen that was broody before the cold kicked in... he wasn't too keen on chickens in the house. (my retort - we already have one in the house...)

Reminds me - I seem to recall using a kitchen timer to help soothe a chick when I was a kid... was great except we had to keep re-winding it before it got to the ringing sound.
Thanks again...

Also give the baby a stuffed toy to cuddle up with. Sometimes people hang a feather duster a little above the ground, so the chick can run under the feathers like it would with a real mama.
Chickens are flock animals. Is it possible to get a couple chicks about the size and age of this one and raise them together. It is safer to integrate a few chicks into the established flock than just one, who will be singled out for bullying.
