a colleague once convinced me that it was ok for vegetarians to eat chickens because the latter ranked a step below the routabaga on the scale of evolution [in his defense, he once had to work on a chicken farm and his experience with those poor creatures was not a happy one]
... but then a close friend of mine acquired 6 lovely heritage chickens ... her joy with her 'girls' and the hypnotic "puck-puck" that emerges from their silly little beaks persuaded me that my 1/2 acre of garden and orchard would be incomplete without chickens
... she went on to hint that i would be a cretin if i didn't join the forum ... so here i am ... in a week the coop will be built and the order for 8 chickens (2 each of four heritage varieties) will be placed
... i am so looking forward to my own puck-puck generators
