Hello,
My name is Michele and I live in Napa. Yes, I work for a small vineyard :) I moved to a new house and inherited a large run and coop and decided to put it to good use :) I bought started pullets (4 Red Lace Cornish, 2 Buff Orpington, and 2 of what I was told were Ameraucana, but look more like Easter Eggers) and would like to add more in a few months! We had chickens growing up (RIR), and I had some in my late 20's/early 30's (BA, SLW & Araucana hens and two gorgeous Roos) but nearing 50, it's been a while.
We currently have cats and the chickens, but will be adding a Bernese Mtn dog pup soon. I used to breed and show them for about 15 years and I think it's time to have one in our lives again! They are so gentle and I think will be the perfect addition to my mini 'farm'.
I have turned to Backyard Chickens time and time again, because I am constantly doubting myself and turning to you pros for guidance, even if you don't realize it. Thank you! I'm glad my confirmation email finally came through and I look forward to being a part of this group!

G’Day from down under Michele :frow Welcome!

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

Personally, I have found the Topic of the Week articles a great resource and a one stop shop for questions which may have already been discussed within the BYC membership group. There are a couple of existing discussions on integration that you mind find helpful.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)
