Hello
I’m a mom of 4 children and 15+ furry, scaly, feathery kids. My family has a tradition of when they are 9 yrs old, they get to have a pet. My now 10 yr old chose chickens last year. We have 4 hens and sadly just lost our rooster as he was protecting the flock. We have an Americauna, Barred Rock, Buff Orpington, and a Rhode Island Red. Just after the Americauna rooster died. We decided that while on Covid 19 homeschool we would incubate eggs and hopefully hatch an offspring from our beloved rooster. We collected 9 eggs of which 8 were fertile. So far one Americauna has hatched. We are waiting for 3 more. 4 unfortunately were so close to hatching and ended up dying in the egg. That’s where my first questions will come in. Glad to get information from this website.
