Aloha & Mahalo for lettingyme join. MyMister & I just started raising chickens & are very excited. Right now we have 5 & 7 chics on the way. Looking forward to getting info from everyone :)
 
Welcome to the flock. My brother has been to Hawaii many times, he says it is heaven on earth. What Island do you live on?

What breeds of chicken are you getting? He said he has seen many wild chickens and took pictures of some last time he vacationed there.

Very important to be set up for you chicks before you get them and this time of year as I remember it is warm enough to raise chicks in the front yard

So do you have a coop or run built or are you going to let them free range in the jungle ?????

I live on the island of Oahu up in the hills of Papakolea.

The 5 we have now I s ont really know what breed they are. My hubby brought them home from the feed supply store after we got our chicken coop & run wt up.

But our 7 chics that are on order are road Island Reds & leghorns. Im really excited about those. We w went & got a new coop/run for them so they dont get beat up by the ones we already have.
