Hi, I'm Shannon. I have always wanted to get chickens, they're so cute but yesterday I finally decided to get some hatching egg and hope for the best. I'm using a propagator to incubate them and the temperature is just right, I'm just hoping that it works. Any advice would be very much appreciated. If and when the chicks hatch, I will put them outside on my plot of land where they can be safe and have plenty of space and then hopefully in a few months we should see some egg production

I am looking forward to using this forums to learn more about raising chickens and the people who do so :)

Welcome to BYC!

Its so exciting to have eggs that are going to hatch!
Make sure you have a brooder set up for when they hatch. They need to be kept at around 90-95 F after hatching, slowly lowering the temperature over a months time until it is room temperature.

Best of luck!
