New member here! Just got 5 sexlink chicks from a local feed store and ordered 4 other chicks (lavendar legbar, cream legbar, marsbars olive egger, and a black marans) from a local breeder. I grew up with chickens as a child but this is the first flock of my own. Our sexlinks are about 3.5 weeks old and getting their feathers in! I think we have a few weeks before our other chicks are ready from the breeder. I have two little boys that are beyond excited to have these chicks added to our family.
I am so glad I found this community and see what others are up to in their chicken journeys!

Welcome here you will love your chickens so much more than you did as a child.! I hope your boys are old enough to help. Make sure you are prepared for predators as that would break your hearts.:hit There are so many great folks with so much wisdom here. Visit us often, ask away, send us pictures of flock we really are suckers for flock pix:wee. Go to articles on home page lots of articles there.
