Hi, welcome to BYC.
There is nothing wrong with ordering from more than one hatchery. I would feed non-medicated, and keep some corid on hand for emergencies. Medicated feed is only for cocidosis and the corid will treat that if it is even in your chicken yard.
I haven't ordered from any hatcheries but ideal, as it is close enough to drive there,from here.
I have bought plenty of chicks from Tractor Supply and Atwoods, including Crested cream legbars, brahmas, welsummers, and Easter eggers.

If you haven't already picked your hatchery, I definitely recommend Meyer's as my number one choice. I often choose to hatch my own chicks from a reliable breeder, but if you are planning on having these chickens just for a hobby and egg production and not looking into making a profit on breeding, any hatchery chicks will do. I recommend Meyer's because of their outstanding customer service as well as quality, healthy birds. From experience ordering chicks from different hatcheries like Strombergs and Ideal, I can say the least amount of chick fatalities has come from Meyer's hatchery. I also like McMurray hatchery as well. Whatever hatchery you choose, I definitely recommend getting their mareks vaccinations added on to your order. Usually a hatchery will tell you at check out how long it will take to ship and deliver your chicks to the post office. This is a good time to order though because a lot of hatcheries are having sales and its not too cold out just yet.

:frowHi, so glad to have you! Yes, as @cherrynberry mentioned, I did just receive an order of chicks! Wait, has it been a month already?! Yes, it has! I got them from Cackle Hatchery, and they are very good to do business with as well. They sent me two extra (total of 18) and all have survived beautifully! I have also ordered from Meyer in the past with similar results. I think most of the big name hatcheries do very well with customer service; they have to in order to stay in business due to the competition! When you place your order you should be able to pick your ship date or they will have a list of hatch dates. Then your chicks get shipped and should arrive no later than three days after hatch. It's so exciting to wait for them and be sure everything is ready for them! Almost as much fun as waiting for a new baby, lol!
