Hi Everyone!
I'm a new member from Idaho. My family and I are working to develop our land into an actual farm.... my dream?? quit my job and grow things / cook things / make things / and be with my family full time. I do actually love my job... but what is life without dreams?

We have a flock of 10 right now, one beautiful silver rooster (Falcon) and 9 sweet hens.... my boys named them - Flash (like dukes of hazard.... FlAAASH!!!), Turkey, Shadow, Waffles, Pip, Squeak, Ghost, PJ and Red (like OITNB Red.... she looks angry all the time but lays the most beautiful Olive eggs).

They are happily chickening and quite spoiled.

We have two dogs, one big boy Bruce. He's a black mastiff / great dane, and will jump to give kisses.... if you know him you know they're kisses.... if you don't.... well it's terrifying. Layla is a frosted bearded terrier mix.... they are not quite sure what to think of the chickens. But the chickens are fenced off from the dogs so they are curious but from a safe distance.

Thanks so much for this site, I've come here quite often for advice, hints and tips. The admin and experienced posters are like chicken encyclopedias- it's pretty fantastic.
