new member in albuquerque

hey everyone,
I'm looking at getting into chickenss here in albuquerque city limits. I'm interested in gettting some buckeye's, anyone tell how well they would do in our climate here where it can easily top 100 degrees in the summer months and drop to 20-30 degrees in the months of jan, feb, an march. Interested cause i remember my cousin's grandparents had several of these birds in their flock when i was young living in Ohio.

If you go to the Where am I? Where are you? thread there's probably one for New Mexico and maybe even one for Albequerque too. People on there would be able to help you with what would work well in your area. I don't know about Buckeye's but our weather here in Northern OK is similar and we have a variety of birds that have done well in both the heat and cold. Good luck and happy chickens!
