Hi, I live in Glendale, AZ and just recently found BackYard Chickens.
I had chickens when growing up but started keeping them again in 2005 when we had a terrible infestation of ticks in our yard.
Right now I have an Americuna hen from the original batch and 5 chicks that I got this spring. One is a rooster and, unfortunately, he will need to go as the city doesn't allow roosters where we are.
So if anyone local has need of an Americuna roo, I have one that needs a home. He is just starting to crow and it won't be long before someone complains.
My chickens are primarily for bug patrol with the eggs as an added bonus.
We also have a Bearded Collie and two Great Pyrenees.
