Sorry for delay i am at work right now. We have a red cross of some sort we aquire from our local ahmish community for eggs and we are raising some meyer fry pan specials just recently got 100 more they appear to be barred rock and buffs with some partridge marked birds also. Guess we will be able to identify better in a few weeks lol

Sounds like they are probably all hybrids. Not surprising since the best layers (sex links) and the best meat birds (Cornish cross, Red Rangers, Pioneers, etc.) are all hybrids. Good luck in getting those eggs, and meat for the freezer.

Red cross layers definatly a hybrid they use, great layers. Meat birds are hatchery quality extra roos meyers sells off cheap when you buy quantity. Never know what breeds your getting, they mature much slower than broilers but range well price is right and always get a few oops hens in there to put in layer flock

Welcome to the flock Sean. If you go to "where am I, where are you," in the social forum you can locate and post on your state thread. Then you would reach people in your area that may want what you've got.
