This is their yard (before it had chickens), the wall on the left is my bedroom so it's very easy to keep tabs on them. Also, the morning rooster crow is about 6' from my ears...

Honey, I can not afford to get to Hawaii. Hopefully I'll see her when hubby gets next duty assignment. They just left Japan and I hoped he would have been stationed closer. Oh well, sucks to be grandma.

Update: the girls are now 6mos and 1 week old, and one of them laid our first egg (Her first, and my first time having chickens too).

the shell feels solid and looks good, haven't opened it yet.
