Hi all,
I joined so that I could get the word out about upcoming City Council activity here in Lee's Summit. The Economic Development Council voted last night to send ordinance amendments to the full City Council. I don't yet know the date when this will make the agenda. When approved, I will be able to keep up to six hens as long as the coop is 40 feet from the neighbors' houses. (an improvement from the current 400 ft.).
Anyway, glad to be part of the group. I'm camped out in an apartment for now and I'm waiting to mortgage a house until this ordinance is approved. If not approved, I could settle into one of the many other Kansas City area cities that already allow hens, but Lee's Summit is my preferrence.
