I started this account a while back but become consumed in projects on the homestead. I live by Muskogee, Oklahoma with my husband and nearly 2 year-old son and we have 3 barred rock hens, 1 barred rock rooster, 1 blue laced red wyandotte, and 1 gold laced wyandotte rooster. After living on busy Oahu for three years, I'm so happy to back in the country and have really picked up the hobby of chicken raising and loving every minute of it. We grow a lot of our own vegetables and love living off the land as much as we can. Love BYC for the advice and tips i can get, and I hope to share some of my own advice too! I'm a bio major in a program that emphasizes in fish and wildlife so I hope to put some of my knowledge and studies to good use in helping with various issues that come country living.

Glad you're enjoying a more rural lifestyle, it's a good way to bring up children. Make yourself at home here, there are a lot of forums on different topics (including some non-poultry ones).
