Hi BYC! I've read various threads over the past year, but I officially signed up to post because I'm having a Bully hen issue. Boo.

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

I am new to chickens and have had my current girls for just about a year. We've been through chases with the cat, garden raiding, molting, snow, solid frozen water and we're smack in the middle of a flock introduction. It's been a learning experience!

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

I have 3 established ladies and I'm in the process of adding 2 pullets.

(3) What breeds do you have?

I have 2 RIRs (Sass and Slow Poke), 1 Welsumer (Summer), 1 Ameraucana (Merryweather) and 1 Blue Langshan (General Orange).

Welcome to BYC!

We're glad to have you. You seem to have a nice, varied flock!

Thank you - here's hoping they can accept the new ladies sooner than later!

It's common to have issues when trying to integrate new birds into an established flock. One of the better way to do so is, to partition off the coop and run, so that the new birds are on one side, separated by wire, and the oldies on the other side. This way they can see and gradually get accustomed to each other without blood shed.
