New to chickens and have not purchased chicks yet. Has been a goal for a number of years and now finally able to prioritize it. Doing research now for coop and types of chickens to buy. Interested in egg layers and also chickens that are fairly docile. No roosters (county restrictions). Kind of stumbled upon mealworm farming (using that word very lightly), it started as fun project to watch them change but now thinking it may be a good thing for chickens! I found BYC through a member of church. I found a post that showed the coop I had in mind and it was validating as I had never seen one designed that way! I am excited to learn more and get some chicks!
