New member intro

Hi! My name is Teresa Wolfe. I am a new grandma and a new chicken owner! My daughter gave me a beautiful grandson May 3rd. My flock started with a year old Australorp hen that my son brought home from his dad's. "Henny Penny" as i call her is a super layer and quickly won both my heart as well as my husbands. Needless to say we soon got 20 babies to raise with "Henny": 10 "female" Australorps and 10 Straight run Buff Orpingtons. They are now almost 8 weeks old and i think we have a roo or two with our Austras! I need to figure out who is what soon as my niece is taking 4 babies and my brother is taking 10. I want to keep Henny plus 2 female Austras and 3 Orps plus an Orp Roo. Thank you for letting me join and I'm looking forward to learning from all of you.

Thanks! Ive bern reading everything i can get my hands on about chickens. They are so fun and therapeutic to watch. My husband is even getting over his childhood fear of them and likes to let them out in the mornings.
