New Member Intro

Chickens use nesting boxes to lay eggs in. If they are using the nesting boxes to sleep in, one consequence is they will eat their eggs. They sleep on roosts.
They used to sleep in their boxes but have been roosting as of late since it has started getting chilly. They drop their presents for me in the mornings and sometimes get primped and proper by putting straws on their backs and out the box they go.. straight to their run. That is one thing that really worried me since tasting that egg on Wednesday.. but so far eggs have been untouched 🙃

I'm not sure if you have a roost in your coop, it has lots of space. Roosts should be higher than the nesting boxes. You could remove 2 nesting boxes to put a roost on one side. I have 16 hens and only 3 nesting boxes (I used to have 6 nesting boxes but they only used 3, so I removed them for more room). If you already have a roost, ignore this.
I love your run! It has lots of things to keep them busy!
We got them each a box, they used to sleep in them but since it has started getting chilly they are roosting more. Thanks for the tip! We will be taking out the 2 boxes that aren't being used and putting in a bigger roost tomorrow ☺️

Lord Jesus, please, what ever is making Pickles ill, just heal your little one and give her a good life, and eggs. In your name I pray. Amen
Dear Lord, I thank you for guiding me to find this wonderful community. I feel so blessed and welcomed, I have tears of joy running down my face. Please continue to guide everyone here, heal all who is suffering, and bless them infinitely with an abundance of health and happiness. Amen.
