Hey, DobieLover... attached please see pics of Chloe (Cletus?) and, photobombing, Turdball. Thanks for any assist (although I'm leaning toward cockerel based on BYC research)Hello and welcome to BYC!Glad you joined.
Post pictures of Chloe and we'll let
you know if she can keep her name or not!
I'm trying hard, cmom. The girls are definitely well-cared for. So, it's not malnutrition or lack of nutrients. I seriously just think I have a sweetheart of a chicken with a psych issue. I do have a 65 watt red heating lamp (temps are dropping here in PA and her not having feathers is concerning to a first year chicken dad) in the coop, although she seems right at home. Prepping for the winter, I ran electric to both my coops. FWIW "Fluffy" is on the right. My youngest named her when she was a chick. Although the name doesn't quite fit anymore. Hennie is on the left. They're the oldest, the first, and separated from the younger ones for now, as Hennie goes after the other new birds like she's on a mission. We tried cooping them together in early Fall multiple times. Each time it got too rough for the young ones. They cowered in the corner together and cried a gawd awful cheeping wail. My family was too worried for them. We learned a hard lesson about integration (and not to buy chicks on special late in the season). We'll try cooping together again in the Spring, when they're old enough to protect themselves, become wise enough to learn their place in the pecking order without the need to cower and wail, and when I can build them all a bigger, protected run. Thanks for the concern.I hope you have been able to figure out the feather loss. Good luck and have fun with your birds...
Sounds good!

Hey, all. Sorry if this a double post. I'm working on mobile, so it's hard to tell.
It's nice to have you here, make yourself at home! If Chloe turns out to be a Cletus, will you be able to keep him?
A name change is in order. He's a handsome guy.Hey, DobieLover... attached please see pics of Chloe (Cletus?) and, photobombing, Turdball. Thanks for any assist (although I'm leaning toward cockerel based on BYC research)![]()
