I volunteer with Earth Matter on Governors Island in NYC. We have about 70 hens. Our main mission is composting. The chickens are a favorite with the public. I am very interested in Black Soldier Flies both as feed and as decomposers.

I'm working on a meal worm setup to give mine as treats and a supplement for protein. I use earth worms in my compost piles, never thought of soldier flies might have to look that one up
