So happy you have joined our flock.thanks so much for the warm welcome! Yeah, it was so bad it made Velveeta look good. I had 3 RI Red pullets & just got 2 more of unknown breed. 1 is butterscotch the other black, around 14 weeks. I'm thinking a red or 2 may be roos. They are getting talkative with bright red crowns, waddles & attitudes. The other is def a hen by comparison. I'm having fun and yes, they are entertaining. I built them a cool swing & put in a mister like sprinkler thing today (it was nearly 100!)Thanks, Linda Lou, for reminding me of that awful government cheese. It was so bad that my grandparents -- who didn't waste anything -- refused to eat it. They gave it to my folks instead. Yeah, it was terrible.
I got my first four hens for the eggs; I now have many more chickens and enjoy them for their entertainment value as much as their production.
Welcome to BYC: it's good to have you as part of our flock!
