(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? I am not new to chickens. I got my first chicken when I was 10 years old, I will be 34 years old next month. My first chicken that started my obsession with chickens was a Lemon Blue bantam game hen. She was the sweetest chicken, I even took her to school one day.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now? Currently I have 38 chickens.

(3) What breeds do you have?
•7 buff brahmas (3 are 6 weeks old and. possibly roosters)

•3 light brahmas
•2 Welsummers (1 is a rooster)
•2 black Australorps (1 is a rooster)
•4 blue Australorps (1 is a rooster)
•1 green queen
•1 Lakeshore
•3 silver laced Wyandottes
•2 gold laced Wyandottes
•3 barred rocks
•2 Anconas
•2 golden buffs (red sex links)
•3 bantam cochins (1 white, 1 mottled, 1 frizzle)
•1 barnyard mix
•1 white crested black polish (Marie Antoinette)
•1 Phoenix (Joaquin the Phoenix chick)



(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? I love the fresh eggs, natural bug control, and the joy chickens bring to my life. They all have a personality

(5) What are some of your other hobbies? I enjoy baking and spending time with my family and pets.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. I am a stay at home mom/house wife. I have an amazing 11 year old daughter and a wonderful supportive husband who understands my crazy obsession with animals. I use to flip homes but became disabled and am unable to do that type of work now. I train dogs part time, I am a certified force free trainer. I love clicker training dogs and am going to start clicker training Joaquin the Phoenix chick. She is very smart and is learning her name, she is 6 weeks old. I have always wanted a Phoenix chick ever since I was a kid and I finally have one.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D I have known about BYC for some time now, I finally decided to join because I feel it is a good way for me to help others and to talk with others who are interested in chickens like I am.
