(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? I'm new to owning quail and acquired 7 on Saturday July 24th 2023.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? 7 quail. 6 lasses and 1 lad.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Japanese Coturnix Quail.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
So far I just love watching what they do and how they behave, but I feel so new and worried I'm not sure I'm enjoying it all yet!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? I like sewing, crafting, making my own clothes. I work in data. We had a show here in the UK called the Good Life (probably hasn't aged well) but having animals growing veggies is dreamy.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have a black cat. I work in data. I'm very organized and do lots of research but feeling out of my depth with our new feathery additions!
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
Google! Thank God for Google. I don't know how I haven't came across this before (maybe as it's more US based?) But I wish I'd had all this info before getting my quail.
