I'm Emily from Arabi, just outside New Orleans.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We just got our flock of three at the end of June 2023. That quickly turned to 5 and is now 8, which 3 fosters looking for a good home.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Eight
(3) What breeds do you have?
Two barred plymouth rock, one buff orpington, one RIR, one mixed breed (possibly Svart Hona mix, she ALLLL black)
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Theyre hilarious and adorable
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I never know how to answer this since I made my hobbies my business. I'm an artist, photographer, designer, and ceramicist.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
It's just my husband and I with our two hairless cats!
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I found this community googling anything and everything about chickens and realizing it all led back to this site I finally joined in.
