(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

Hi all! I hatched chicks for the first time two years ago. We got a dozen hatching eggs from a friend.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

We have 10 laying chickens, 4 silkies, and four chicks.

(3) What breeds do you have?

Silkies
California White
FBCM
Cinnamon queen
Sapphire Gem
Golden Comet
Green egger
Ameraucana
Black Australorp
And mixes

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?

They are such a joy to watch and interact with and, of course, we love the eggs. I'm working towards having colorful layers!

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

Gardening, drawing

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

We have four children under 12. I'm a stay at home mom and I homeschool 2 of my children.
