Hi, I am Ashley I live in Phoenix, AZ with my Husband. We got married two years ago and started our two become one journey. We bought a home in November of last 2012 and bought our first together chickens in March the following year. I grew up in a rural home and always had Chickens and other pets (ie. rabbits, horses, goats, ducks, geese, Guinea fowl). My husband is a bit of a countrified city kid...they had a family dog. He is adapting well. We live in a great place and have amazing neighbors. We try and run our house like a homestead making most things from scratch. I have had some health issues that lead me to this lifestyle. I recently started a blog on the traditional lifestyle we choose to live and homesteading activities we partake in.

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
My first chickens were my parent's flock when I was about 5 or 6.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
22 hens and 12 chicks in the brooder

(3) What breeds do you have?
Wyandottes: 2 blue laced red hens, 1 golden laced hen, 2 Columbian hens, 2 silver laced hens, 1 white hen/ Easter Eggers: 3 hens, 2 chicks/ Buff Orpingtons: 2 hens/ Salmon Faverolle: 2 hens/ Brown Leghorn: 1 Hen/ Rocks: 2 partridge hens, 2 Barred Hens/ Astralorp: 1 black hen, 1 Blue hen/ Welsummer: 2 chicks/ Black Copper Maran: 1 chick/ Cuckoo Maran: 2 chicks/ Mixed chicks hatched in the incubator: 5 chicks.

Google

Horses, goats, homesteading, cooking, all crafts, health and nutrition, blogging, DIY, gardening,

6) Non chicken pets/animals.

Hello and welcome to BYC! I just checked out your site and absolutely loved it! Does the goat play ball yet? That was adorable and extremely funny! Very useful and helpful information on the nutritional items you posted about! I believe I will try a few of those items!

Also, We're having a contest for all new members and if you want to sign up, go here https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/885886/welcome-to-byc-sign-up-and-win. You could be the big winner!

Thank you for checking it out. Unfortunately she still sneezes at the ball. One day maybe she will like it? As for now it is the enemy. I hope the info is helpful for you. It is really hard to to weed through all the natural chicken keeping things you hear or read. We all just want happy healthy hens. I will check out the link, thank you for letting me know. I love free stuff!
