New member introduction

Hi my name is Jennifer. I'm 33 years old I'm new to raising chickens. I went and bought 23 hens and five roosters from a lady really cheap and now they're laying a lot of eggs to have decided to try to hatch my own chicks. I made my own incubator from Styrofoam insulation sheets and today is hatch day for me so far I've had one that has already unzipped it shell but still waiting on it to come completely out and then I have another one that has already picked it shell so now I'm just waiting on the other 17 to show any progress.
Very good! Welcome to Insanity Central, & :welcome

Greetings and welcome to BYC Jennifer! So glad you joined us. Talk about jumping right in the deep end... Congrats! And hatching as well! :clap Best wishes for a successful hatch! There's a wealth of info, knowledge and experience shared in the multitude of threads. Browse around and see what interesting stuff you can find. By all means post away when the desire strikes you, especially if you have questions (provide as much detail/info as possible and pictures truly help)... With all the great folks here, generally someone will respond in no time at all. Please make yourself at home!

Oh, if you haven't done so already, PLEASE put at least your general location in your profile. It could be very important if/when you ask for or offer help or advice. You know, climate issues and such. Old folks like me :old will never remember from this thread. To add it, mouse hover over Account top right and a drop down will appear. Click on Personal Details and scan down. You'll see the spot for Location. Then go to the bottom and save changes. Thanks! Hope you enjoy the site!

G’Day from down under Jennifer :frow Welcome and Congratulations! :clap

I do hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

BYC has a Learning Centre and also Topic of the Week discussions which I have found to be a great resource and a one stop shop for questions which may have already been discussed within the BYC membership group.

As N F C mentioned, if you would like to share Pictures and Stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)

Oh, and you might want to Find Your State Thread and pop in and say hello.

Welcome Jennifer,
My goodness, talk about jumping into the deep end, you're braver than most, I'll say that for you. Keep us posted on how you're doing with your chicks and always remember..... There's no such thing as a stupid question. We all learn from each other here no matter how long we've been at it. Let's see your chicks:jumpyHere's my starter flock which has grown to include 26 Buff Orpingtons. I have two coops, the garage here and one in the back of the garage for half the Orpingtons.
