HRHKate. Greetings! I live on a small farm with 35 peafowl, 5 Guineas, 1 Americana hen, 5 Sebright cross hens, 7 Sebright cross roosters(yikes!), and two large mixed breed roosters. Can’t bear to kill the roosters and nobody else wants them! Does anyone else share this problem?

Oh yes, absolutely re the roosters. It’s a common problem. It’s just a case of making contacts. I’m fortunate that a friend has a 180 acre farm and will take any spare roos, but only if I’m really stuck. They basically just fend for themselves and roost in the barn at night.

I hatch a lot of roos. Most of them are sold on craigslist.

Maybe I’ll try another ad on Craig’s list when the weather is nicer...We have ice storms and snow now...everyone is so over Winter! Maybe when Spring is actually here, they’ll think chickens!
