(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? Yes. Bought 4 Speckled Sussex chicks and 3 Cayuga ducklings in late June, 2018. Added 4 Silver Laced Wyandottes chicks in August, 2018. There are also 2 random (breed unknown) hens that were rescued from an animal shelter over a year ago.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now? 8

(3) What breeds do you have? Speckled Sussex and Silver Laced Wyandottes plus

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? Watching the antics and personalities; learning why chickens do what they do

(5) What are some of your other hobbies? reading, sewing, cooking

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. The flock resides on my daughter and son-in-law's 5 acre hobby farm. They are the primary caretakers of the chickens (and ducks), but I do what I can 2 or 3 days a week when I'm there to babysit our grandchildren,

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D Searching for good poultry information on the web.
