Hi, my name is Lori, our hobby ranch name is a nod to my husband's heritage and his nickname for his dad-Papa Polacko. We just got our pullets after I did a little bit of research(I hadn't found y'all yet). Right now we just have the 8 hens and will see how that goes before adding a rooster or anymore hens. We also have 9 Nigerian dwarf goats and will also be adding cattle sometime in the near future. The rest of our brood is made up of 5 dogs; one is our son's who unfortunately had to move back home last year after a break up with his fiancé. Other than that it's just my husband and myself here on the ranch. We have 3 children 2 girls and our son and one 7 mo. grandson.

Thank you all for the great welcome! I'm sure I'll have tons of questions as I go along this journey my husband and I are on. I can definitely tell I'm among fellow enthusiasts! And if allowed, if anyone has any questions for me, just ask away! I'd be happy to help where and when I can. Or answer any other questions about myself and my hubby's small operation.

Hello and welcome to the flock!

Your hobby farm is my mom's dream--one she's working on realizing next spring with her first cow! Hopefully you'll stick around and post progress on you animals and lifestyle so she can learn more.

Lookin forward to seeing you around on the forums~
I'd love to answer any questions she may have. I've been raising Nigerian and pygmy goats for 10 years now and love it. Plus my father-in-law had a sheep ranch with several head in 3 states. So hubby knows his sheep. I'm happy you're mom is jumping in and realizing her dream. My husband and I have been planning this for years, knowing we'd like to buy land and raise different farm animals once he retired from the navy. So here we are!

Where are you located? Sounds like a nice farm!
