New member introduction

Just an accidental farm girl thrust into the role of sole caregiver for chickens and ducks I have fallen madly in love with. Navigating unfamiliar waters with limited resources and very little confidence
You had the insight too find the right place to be. It will only get better from here
(I don’t even know what breeds I have) I’m on a mission to learn as I take the responsibility of their care very seriously.
There's is still a lot I don't know but got through so many problems thanks to the good people here

:welcome

Hello and welcome!
Here's a site that will hopefully help with some identification, just click on the breed and you'll see what chicks look like in adult form and their egg color. It may take a little time to comb through everything bur you'll learn about some of your chickens.
How did you become an accidental farm girl?

I’ll try to give you the condensed version. Woman with a California East Bay lifestyle and mentality gets engaged to Northwest Washington man and relocates to his small farm. VERY soon after I moved, he suffered a health crisis which left me flying solo here.

That is very condensed! Sorry to hear that but hopefully you'll learn and love farming.
Thank you. The learning has been very rewarding and I already do love it.

Also, hopefully by now you're figuring out what breeds some of your chicks are.
I plan to post pictures of my chickens very soon. So much to learn and so much to do! 11 chickens, nine ducks, and 17 rabbits (9 of which are about a month old). Thankfully, I have experience with harvesting and canning but even more thankful for finding this site!
