New Member Introduction

Hi! I’m Fran & I am new to this forum.

(1) I grew up with backyard chickens. I got my own flock in 2018. I only have one chicken left from my first flock (one recently died from a hawk attack). I added 6 more chickens to my flock in 2021.

(2) In total, I have 7 chickens — with a few incubated eggs (so, hoping for more soon!).

(3) Breeds: Barred Rock, Ameraucana, Black Australorp, Sapphire Gem, Salmon Faverolle

(4) Favorite Aspect: I love seeing their different personalities, caring for them, and making lots of egg dishes!

(5) Other hobbies: beekeeping, gardening, mountain biking, skiing, running, soccer, rock climbing, and mountaineering.

(6) About my life: Live in the PNW. Married with 1 child. And a shelter pup! Wrapping up grad school for social work. I’d love to connect and learn about how best to support my avian ladies!

Do you think it’s safe to open the incubator to take out the plastic egg divider/turner thingy?? I realized I accidentally left that in.. and I am worried my chickies will get tangled/hurt themselves with it in there!
