Hiya, Fran, and welcome to BYC! :frow

Congrats on the new chicks! How eggciting!

We need an updated picture and maybe some here may know what they are.
The four amigos! They’re inside under a heat lamp right now, but I’m wondering if I can put them in my (non-insulated) shed with the heat lamp? Would that be too cold? I live in the PNW— no snow, but colder temps at night (40’s).

I would. But make sure you double secure the heat lamp so there is no way for it to fall in the bedding. Make sure there is a ton of ventilation but zero drafts. They will do much better outside in the ambient temperatures. I raised chicks out in my built in brooder in my coop when the temps dropped into the low 20s at night. I used a brooder plate with a towel over it. The chicks thrived.
