Congratulations, they are adorable!!!Two just arrived! Whew! Thanks for the advice! Glad I took the turner out!
The four amigos! They’re inside under a heat lamp right now, but I’m wondering if I can put them in my (non-insulated) shed with the heat lamp? Would that be too cold? I live in the PNW— no snow, but colder temps at night (40’s).Hiya, Fran, and welcome to BYC!
Congrats on the new chicks! How eggciting!
We need an updated picture and maybe some here may know what they are.
I would. But make sure you double secure the heat lamp so there is no way for it to fall in the bedding. Make sure there is a ton of ventilation but zero drafts. They will do much better outside in the ambient temperatures. I raised chicks out in my built in brooder in my coop when the temps dropped into the low 20s at night. I used a brooder plate with a towel over it. The chicks thrived. The four amigos!
