(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Yes I am new to raising chickens and I got four hens 6 months ago.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Four hens
(3) What breeds do you have?
I have two golden Orpingtons and two Rhode Island Reds
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
They are so sweet and their eggs are helpful.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I love to organize and clean
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I don't own any other pets other than my four chickens I have two daughters age for and nine who love coming out and helping clean their bedding and feed them snacks and just watch them throughout the day. I am a part-time soup at UPS inside the warehouse and my husband is the one that had brought up wanting to own chickens it was a great start for my youngest daughter to learn responsibility.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I just recently found this I was looking for help on one of my hens currently going through a situation and needed advice and everything else costed an arm and a leg but I found this website by using chat GPT
