Hello Everyone. I am a new member from South Lyon, Michigan and I joined this site to learn about raising chickens for personal use on a 40 acre farm. I already have some of the materials to make a chicken tractor, so I can 100% free range and I plan on adding a portable coop to the tractor so they can get inside and be safe at night. So I am a total newbe. I have never raised chickens except for the time I took a field trip and got one of those cute baby chics that enraged my parents when I got home. They let me keep for awhile until they found a farm to donate it to. LOL!! What did they know, they are subdivision suburbanites. LOL
Right now we have 6 horses that I care for and lease to ride and take lessons. I have plenty of room and I just don't want to plunge into it without visiting some places nearby and see how they are raising their chickens.
