Live in southeast Arkansas and got 6 chickens in late July. They are completely free range. Don't know what I'm doing but having a ball!

Greetings from College Station, Texas. Glad to hear you having fun with them. Our chickens are free range as well, and we share a small flock with our neighbors. We get a huge amount of pleasure from watching their behaviors with one another and with us.
