Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
Have the neighbors complained about the rooster yet?

No, not at all. And he’s got a pretty quiet crow. I think the neighbors like to watch them and we have chain link fences separating all of us, so that’s pretty easy. As neighbors we do not say much.

:frow Welcome to BYC! It’s nice to meet you!
If you want some more hatching fun, try Coturnix quail! Super tiny, and quiet, not especially flighty (LO can handle them), and while they can stay outside, you can keep them in a cage too.
This is an idea for chickens, but the idea can be used for quail too. I think a storage bench would be a nice low profile shelter for the quail, and the hardware cloth tunnels can be added to the side(s).

Here’s chicken pics.

New chick: BCM x OE, 1 of 2 hatched; 3rd still in bator cooking and losing hope for it hatching.

My chicken set-up: always a work in progress. The run enclosure has two coops. One small one inside for laying and integrating newbies and one larger attached from outside. Someday it will all be level and on blocks.

Most of my ladies: Chili, Pepper, Pumpkin, Honey, Juniper, Marigold, Poppyseed, Tilly, and Parsley.

BCM/mother hen: Poppyseed is 10mo and we got 2 chicks from her.

OE/rooster: Sage, the Papa to the 2 baby chicks.

Thanks for checking them out! ♥️
