Hello from Northern Michigan!
I am currently building a cute coop to house a few hens next spring. The way we do things around here I figured we better start the coop now so it will be finished in time.
I've had laying hens in the past (comets) but would like to get a mixture this time. Ideally I'd like to get a barred rock, a buff orpington, a silver wyandotte and an EE for my grandson. Am I being silly wanting 4 different varieties? Do you for see any problems with these? Thank you in advance for any advice you can provide.
