(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I've had chickens for years now, after an Easter gift of 2 pullets and a chicken tractor from the grandchildren.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

had 5 adults and added 25 chicks in April, have sent some off to the freezer and others to dinner with relatives. I think 17 at the moment?
(3) What breeds do you have?
Beats me. Some of my chicks are buff orpingtons, the rest were just random meat birds.
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?

I've been lurking for years now, just not a joiner.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

I love to sew, cook and read. I'm really an introvert at heart.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
3 daughters and 1 son, 4 grandchildren and no more pets for me, it's too hard to have them pass on after so many years together. Although I'd gladly take a canary or 2.

Welcome to BYC!!! I love that you sent some to dinner with the relatives! How cordial of you! :lau I’ll need to use that line next time someone asks where my extra roos go...

Lo & behold, you might have been me. I was never a joiner, and a real hermit lacking social skills. But in my advancing years I discovered BYC to help a chicken friend out(who didn't have computer).

I lurked for 8 months before I got the nerve to join and post. You can see by post count,
I got alot more sociable. The folks here are great. I had never really liked computers and am not very good with them. But I manage. The internet was made for shy people and boy can they shine- and usually end up very comfortable at the keyboard.

Just turned 71 and still loving this site and the people on it. :welcome:frow
