I did see something that would concern me a good bit. They want you to let them know when you leave town even for one day so they can patrol your house. You may want to consider this when making your chicken decision.Yes, unfortunately I was unable to find anything![]()

Oh yeah, I got that. It's not mandated.. its a service the villages police dept offers to the village residents for no charge if they want to use it. Kinda like when you are out of town and ask a neighbor to keep an eye on your house.. same thing, but the village police will do it for you if, and ONLY if, you ask them too.
Oh no... LOL... I see what you mean now! It certainly does sound suspect if you arent familiar with the area! HA. Its actually very much the opposite, My Grannie lives here. Super small town with lots of great folks, very low crime.Oh yeah, I got that.. I just meant that it came across as a high crime area if they offer something like that. I would worry about the safety of the chickens.
I saw you went to their website and found nuthin. I checked too and it seems they are just starting to post the the ordinances. I did see contact info there. Call it and ask for someone who is familiar with laws and ordinances in the village. I have found different town/cities sometimes handle it in different departments. Also, I have found in some towns in Ohio, if you have a homeowners association for your housing development (usually a newer devmnt), and their HOA does not allow chickens, this will trump any town/city ordinances , even if the city/town allows it!Howdy y'all and MERRY CHRISTMAS! What a wonderful day to celebrate the birth of our savior!
As the Title mentions.. I will be moving to a small village in Ohio called Camden! I have had a heck of a time trying to find out if I am allowed to have backyard chickens in this area or not! I plan to call the village after Christmas, but if I'm going to be honest, Im not always certain I will get the most accurate info from whomever I am speaking with sometimes (I'm sure its not everyday someone calls in and asks about having backyard chickens and I do believe that sometimes they just assume they don't allow them... lol) Is anyone from this area that knows the laws or ordinances regarding BYC in this village?
Thank you for going out of your way to be helpful! Its very appreciatedI saw you went to their website and found nuthin. I checked too and it seems they are just starting to post the the ordinances.
