new member new post what am i doing wrong?

when i post in the bst everything else i notice i have a dot beside my post, no chick and i get no replies. Am i doing something wrong or am i just being impatient or what? I dont seem to be acomplishing anything? is it just me? Please help if you know what's going on if i'm doing something wrong or whatever! Thanks in advance for all assistance in this matter. Ok.... the chickens mean that the post is unread or has new posts since last read. When you post, it marks as read (no chickie) until someone posts. Everyone else sees the chickie until they read it. It assumes that since you posted, you read it.

The dot indicates that it is a thread you posted in even if you didn't start the thread.
