New Member - New to Chicken Keeping

I have seven girls ranging in age from about 8 to 14 weeks. The first six came home in May, but sadly I lost 2 chicks about 2 weeks ago. The original girls I have are a RIR, Easter Egger, Black astralorp, and a white Austra. I adopted three more on Tuesday; marin, Cochin, and unknown species with a fuzzy head and barred rock mix. I’m retired and spend most of my time gardening. I’m excited about the help my girls will give me with composting and aeration of my dry Texas soil. I’m looking forward to learning from experienced chicken keepers.
