Thanks guys!
How many eggs are fertilized as compared to non fertilized eggs that are good for eating when you have say 6 hens and one rooster? I had pondered over maybe having a rooster and a hen pen( roosters only for meat, and hens only for laying )
Also, when you are planning to hatch chicks after they mate will the hen sit on the eggs until they hatch or is there more work involved?
Last ? for the moment is where can I get a cheap but quality incabater from, or what does everybody reccomend because this will not be a very big operation from the start.
I have been browsing through some of the discussions and this site is full of just about everything you could possibly want to know. I really can't wait to get involved with my chickens!
